Type Anatomy: This is a Pylon

Just caught wind of this helpful little website introducing the concept of a ‘Pylon’ in terms of a typographical feature. They define it as “the area of a stencil font which (a) adds structural integrity to the letterform, and (b) increases aesthetic value and/or legibility through the inclusion of counters.”

Whether you agree or not, they also include a nice, memorable graphical representation of typographical features which is always handy.
